Deconstruction and Visual Rhetoric

Deconstruction is a tool to be used in analyzing photographs or motion pictures. It entails scrutiny of individual elements to find meaning within the visual element being discussed. Deconstruction is essential in the field of visual rhetoric. Meaning is derived from every seemingly mundane detail which has been carefully planned by the rhetor. These details are carefully planned and constructed to give layers of meaning and definition to the photograph or motion picture being viewed. Details such as the camera angle, colors used, shapes, every detail imaginable can be loaded with meaning to give the viewed object deeper meaning and express feeling s to the viewer.
